Official Host Broadcaster
The Romanian Public Television (TVR) is the official host broadcaster for the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union from January to June 2019.
TVR operates four national channels - TVR 1, TVR2, TVR 3, TVR HD and two international channels - TVR International and TVR Moldova. In addition, TVR five regional stations, covering the main areas in the country - TVR Cluj, TVR Craiova, TVR Iaşi, TVR Timişoara, TVR Tîrgu Mureş. TVR is an official member of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
TVRߴS production is the most diversified in the whole Romanian audio visual landscape : news and current affairs, live transmissions of major cultural and sports events, international festivals, films, documentaries, cultural programs, programs for minorities.
TVR is bound to represent the main source of information, education and entertainment in Romania. By its public mission, TVRߴs programms are designed to contribute to the enrichment of the Romanian citizensߴ universe, to support them change their lives for the better, to emphasise the importance of freedom, tradition, respect, diversity and social equilibrium. TVR is safekeeping , in its Golden Archive, the recent memories of Romania as well as black and white memories of 60 years of contemporary history.
The Romanian Public Television is steadily involved in news production for an up-to-date coverage of major events. The official host broadcaster for the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will provide accredited media with free of charge audiovisual material in broadcast quality (HD) from informal ministerial meetings, the Summit in Sibiu and other high-level events taking place in Romania.
Audiovisual material will be broadcast via EbS, the European Unionߴs TV information service, via satellite and can be downloaded in real time. The live feed of the audiovisual material can be received in the media booths and the SNG parking spaces at the main conference and media center at The Palace of Parliament (Bucharest) and at the National Bank of Romania (Bucharest), also at the Summit media center (Sibiu). TVR will provide the following audiovisual material on informal Council meetings:
arrivals of the ministers from a position outside the main entrance
doorsteps -short statements before the start of a meeting in the original language
handshakes (welcome by the host) in the original language
tour-de-table - before the beggining of the meeting
Romanian Presidency press conference, other ministerial press conferences and briefings as per the official programme
TVR will supply live coverage and edited highlighted packages of events. Additional broadcasting requirements should be notified to the host broadcaster and will incur charges.
TVR is the first host broadcaster that provides a VOXBOX studio on location in Bruxelles, in the EU Council Building Justus Lipsius, in the Atrium, for live and recorded TV productions. The services will be provided free of charge, on a first come first served basis. For details, please contact the official host broadcaster.
The Romanian Presidency will make available 20 media booths in the main conference and media centre in Bucharest. Similar facilities will be installed at the on-site media centers at The National Bank of Romania (Bucharest) - 6 and in Sibiu - 20.
The media booths are equipped with universal power outlets (220V), wired and wireless internet access, LAN connection to the internal production network go get acces to media files corespondent to live recordings, and an HD monitor/TV. The boothsare wired to receive live video and audio feeds (floor language and translations) from the meetings covered by the host broadcaster. Media booths have HD SDI signal with embedded audio.Some of the booths are also equipped with ISDN lines. The media booths can be reserved on a first come, first served basis by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org,or at the information desk in the press centre.Any additional technical requirements should be notified to the host broadcaster and are subject to a fee.
10 stand up positions for live TV productions and transmissions will be availabe at The Palace of Parliament where most of the high level meetings will take place. Similar facilities will be installed at the temporary media centers at The National Bank of Romania (Bucharest) - 6 and in Sibiu - 10. For reservations, please contact the official host broadcaster.
TVR can provide, upon request and subject to a fee, several fully equipped stand up positions with a camera, microphone and appropriate lighting. For bookings, please contact the official host broadcaster.
The additional services will be charged according to the rate card which will be made available on the official host broadcasterߴs website and may be sent by email, upon request.
