Oana Consuela Florea began her career in 1998, when she served as a Legal Adviser in the Directorate for Child Protection in Bucharest. Between 2009 - 2014, she held the position of Executive Director in the Foundation for Protecting the Citizens Against State Abuse (F.A.C.I.A.S.), having a sustained activity in the field of human rights protection, and in the immediately following period, 2014 - 2016, she worked in the European Parliament, where she served as an Accredited Parliamentary Assistant.
In 2016, Oana Consuela Florea was elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, where she still holds office today. Until February 2018, she was Vice-President of the Legal, Discipline and Immunity Committee. Also, until February 2018, she held the position of President of the Special Committee of Inquiry of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, aiming to verify the 2009 elections and the outcome of the presidential vote.
Since February 2018, Oana Consuela Florea is a member of the Chamber of Deputies and Senate Joint Committee empowered to exercise control over the Romanian Intelligence Service, and starting July 2018, she is the President of the Romanian Parliamentߴs Delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group on EUROPOL.
Currently, Oana Consuela Florea is also a member of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate Joint Special Committee for systematization, unification and legal stability of the judiciary system, as well as a member of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate Joint Special Committee regarding the analysis and updating of the normative framework for national security.
She speaks English and French and she is a member in the Friendship parliamentary groups with Brazil and Belgium.
